one fine day in the dead of night

2 dead men got up to fight

back to back they faced each other

drew there swords and shot each other

god.. that takes me back.. my dad used to say something similar...

there are other lines too. something like

"there was one blind man to see fair play
and one dumb man to shout horraaay"

im also fairly sure that it was "faced each other", and "shot each other"... at least thats how it was told to me :D

i love word-play like that too. my favourite saying is
"dont look at me in that tone of voice,it smells a funny colour!"

Hi Anne. I like your Poem (which is incidentally the correct spelling of Poem).

I have a a suggestion for one change, apart from writing two instead of 2.

after one fine day in the dead of night

two dead men got up to fight

back to back they faced one another

drew there swords and shot each other

I think it works better if you avoid the repetition in the last line.

But good work.
