in memory of my Grandpa..... not exactly great literature though

Life is like a rose,

It’s a thing of splendour

It grows tall and strong,

It brightens any garden.

Yet when the rose is gone,

Its perfume is always remembered,

Bringing memories of summer days,

It is never forgotten.

wow, thank you Zoe. I have to admit that i was very emotional at the time and i put it in a card to grandma, hoping that it would help.

when i read this i thought of my nanny and the was before i read 'in memory of my Grandpa..... not exactly great literature though' as i often skip that bit. and i had to hold back tears.

thank you, Mary. It was one of the few things i have written where i had to *think* about the lines - i mean most of my stuff just pops striaght from my feelings onto the page.
