The stormy beginnings

“Shut the sails” Shouted the Captain, “before we get blown to the wrong direction!”

As he heard the captain, Mark rushed, through the wooden deck, towards the sails. A lash of water hit his face as he tripped over.

“Hurry Mark, run and shut them, shut them sails!” repeated the Captain.

Mark quickly got to his feet and ran as fast as he could, his heart beating like its was goanna explode. Mark reached the rope ladder and struggled to climb it, as the ship was rocking ever so dangerously, and before he could reach the sails closing rope the Captain lost control of the wheel.

The ship went in random directions and a big wave came and destroyed the front side of the ship and the ship tipped on the back side. The deck was slippery and the crew started falling down. But Mark quickly hang on to the side of the ship. And another wave came and destroyed the ship, Mark quickly hang on to a piece of floating wood and started paddling but the waves forced him the other way.

Soon he knew it was worthless to try and over swim the waves so he just gave up and let the waves carry him, even though he knew it was a bad decision. A few moments passed the sea calmed; Mark looked in the horizon, hoping to see an island or some kind of land where he could find some food and shelter, but all he saw was the unforgivable never ending sea. Would I die, would I be eaten by sharks? Or would I wash up to an island and live, these thoughts were going around his head like a tornado. Mark was very tired and thoughts like that going around his head he slowly fell asleep.

And when Mark woke up He found himself in a room lying on a soft cozy bed. He looked around the room and it had a lot pots, some sacks and some gardening tools . A very yummy smell reached his nose, that made Marks tummy grumble, and he turned around and saw a woman cooking something.

Then Mark said “Where am I?”

The Woman turned around. “Oh good you’re awake,” said the woman in a soft voice, “I was so worried when my husband found you lying on the beach.”

“How did I get her?” Asked Mark

“Well we found you lying on the beach so we brought you here in our cart,” said the woman, “now care for some vegetable stew.”
